Google indexing

Get the pages Google skips into Google

Search Console tells you a page is "not indexed" and leaves you guessing. IndexPedia finds the one reason for each page, fixes the ones it can with a button, turns the rest into clear to-dos, and shows you the day each page gets in.

What you get

Google's own answer

For every page in your sitemap, from Search Console, read-only.

One reason per page

The biggest blocker first, in plain words: "the page says don't index me", "nothing Google knows links here".

A button for each fix

Take off a "don't index me" tag, make a page name itself as the main one, add links from pages Google already has.

Sent to Google and Bing

Pages Google has not visited are sent to Bing at once and your sitemap goes to Google again.

Clear to-dos for the rest

Thin pages and near copies need your words. You get exactly what to write, page by page.

Got into Google

Each page with the day it was missing, the day it was fixed, and the day Google took it.

From found to indexed

Every page goes through the same steps: Google discovers it, crawls it, then decides whether to index it. Pages drop out at each step. Search Console reports this page by page, with statuses such as "Discovered - currently not indexed" and "Crawled - currently not indexed".

Reading thousands of those rows one by one is slow. IndexPedia reads them for you and groups the missing pages by the pattern behind them.

Common patterns

  • Thin pages: little unique text beyond the site template
  • Near duplicates: many pages that say almost the same thing, such as city or tag pages
  • Discovered but never crawled: often too many low-value URLs competing for attention
  • Blocked or noindex: pages excluded on purpose or by mistake
  • Redirects and errors still listed in the sitemap

Fix the pattern, not the page

When 3,000 pages are missing for the same reason, fixing them one at a time does not work. Each pattern in the report comes with the change that addresses it, such as adding unique content to a template, merging duplicates, or removing pages from the sitemap.

Key terms

Discovered - currently not indexed
Google knows the address but has not crawled it yet.
Crawled - currently not indexed
Google read the page and chose not to index it, usually because it saw little value.

Today: "Crawled - currently not indexed". With IndexPedia: why, and the fix

Google's labels say what happened, not what to do. IndexPedia reads each page, its links and its text, and names the one change that matters most.

Google indexing: frequently asked questions

Why is Google not indexing my pages?

The most common reasons are that the pages look thin or too similar to other pages on your site, that Google has found more addresses than it wants to crawl, or that the pages are blocked, redirected or marked noindex. Google decides page by page, and it does not index everything it finds.

What does "Crawled - currently not indexed" mean?

It means Google visited and read the page, then chose not to add it to its index. This usually happens when Google sees little unique value in the page, for example when most of it is template text or it repeats other pages.

What does "Discovered - currently not indexed" mean?

It means Google knows the address exists but has not crawled it yet. On larger sites this often happens when there are many low-value addresses competing for Google's attention, so the important pages wait in line.

What does the Google indexing report show?

It shows how many of your pages Google has found, crawled and indexed, and groups the pages that dropped out by the pattern behind them, such as thin city pages, tag pages or duplicates. Each pattern comes with the change that addresses it.
